I started out life listening to heavy metal. I adopted my mom's taste in music when I was 5. My mom would make fun of me later for it because I was always like "play metallica mommy"
As I got older I started listening to grunge and the stuff coming out of Seattle. This was like 7-8 years old.
I'll never forget my tenth bday. I was a nirvana fan for some time. Kurt died on the 5th of April, and they didn't find the body and announce his death till on my birthday. Happy bday to me! -C
I went through a brief punk phase, only because I loved the song by the Ramones, my brain is hanging upside down. Well, that and a few other songs by them. I listened to rap for a little bit because that's what my friends listened to. I went through an Eminem phase kind of. I should mention that music never caused me to dress differently. I was hanging out with my friend Sila, and was introduced to trance. I loved it!
I also listened to a lot of alternative at the time, like KROQ on the radio.
I went to some concerts, like ozzfest, summer sanitarium, and a few others.
When I went into the airforce, I listened to country. It was the thing to do in Texas and the back woods of South Carolina. Beer and country music at parties, EDM when I was alone. I knew one other person that listened to edm, and we were both gamers. I have a crazy story about a LAN party we went to.
I also listened to a lot of like south side hip hop, because a good friend was a DJ and always had me listen to his mixes.
A bunch of main stream music. I introduced Nettie to edm. I went back to alternative for a while when I got out of the airforce. EDM is where my heart is, and always has been. I connect with songs about love, feelings, and emotions.
I dislike ego-centric music, aside my foray into rap music as a youngin', I have always disliked it. I've seen my own ego get me knocked out when I was drunk as a kid.
When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord, I listened to a bit of worship music. God knows my heart and my mind. I think I am better at worshiping God with my actions than by singing. He knows my gift is not singing.
What do I listen to now? Mostly stuff like what's on the sound cloud list I made. Songs about love and other feelings. I sometimes throw on just some of the other stuff I've heard in my life.
